  1. Dig a hole 2 to 3 feet deep at each end.
  2. Lay a filled stuff sack, a driftwood log, or a flat rock horizontally in the hole.
  3. Tie your line around the middle of it, then run the line up to the surface at an angle.
  4. Backfill and pack the sand hard. Pouring water over it helps the sand settle.
